I disagree that Bobby Valentine would be the best choice as the new manager of the Mariners. I think they need someone like Kirk Gibson. He is a man that can motivate players, keep players focused and discipline players that slack off. He doesn't put up with players not focusing on their job. This is what the Mariners need. The last couple of managers didn't push the players and they constantly made excuses for their poor performance. Its time for a disciplinarian and for the club to make good farm system choices combined with quality free agents. The Mariners had a good program under Lou Pinella. Lets hope they can do it again soon, not in 3-5 years.

It is really insulting to say, "the Mariners could do much worse than Valentine." Yeah, and MSNBC could do much worse than you too, like maybe hire George Bush to write your pieces?
